I gently replaced the nib unit into the section. I gently unscrewed the nib unit and ran it under the water for a while, as well. I thought maybe there was a clog or some other issue, so I repeated the flushing procedure above with cool water. If I use a mild to moderate amount of pressure, the ink does ultimately flow and look like usual. If I use no pressure, I barely get any measurable hair-thickness line of pale ink on the page. Now, my HS is an EF and does generally write very fine, but now, the flow is almost nonexistant. I gently tightened it and begin trying to write. Herbin.Īdditionally, as I was doing that fill, I noticed that the nib and feed were ever-so-slightly misaligned and ultimately discovered that the whole nib unit was a bit loose. I got a new fresh bottle of J Herbin Perle Noire and wanted to give it a shot (note, I had used this ink before in this pen.) I flushed the HS diligently until the effluence was clear, let it sit in some paper towels overnight to completely dry, and then filled with J. Previously, I had it inked with Aurora black, and I think I let it sit for a couple weeks without being used. So, I'm a little distressed about the performance of my HS right now.
